🥄 Setting the Table

Book signing, Eugene and a brand new market.

TOGETHER WITH

Good morning, Fort Collins. We have so much to talk about, we’ll save you the extra words and jump right in.

In today’s ChoiceCity Dish:

  • First ever Makers Hive Market

  • What a pickle

  • Harmony construction getting worse before it can get better

Now, let’s get to it.

FUSION on the FARM

A friendly chatter rose from around the long table. Husbands and wives, a couple on their very first date, all twelve of them mingling as if they had known each other since long before.

Outside of the red barn, the sun was setting behind the mountains and the lake was reflecting the most incredible colors from the evening sky - swirls of orange, dabs of pink and streaks of blue. A backdrop made even better by the sounds coming from the henhouse and over by the stalls as each of the animals bragged of their contributions to the meal.

Inside, the smell of the homemade pasta rose from the table. A few hours of enjoyable work and education, coalesced in a delicious five-course meal capped off by Amaretti cookies and a unique bonding experience like no other.

Dawn Broeder is a chef, rancher, mother, former high school culinary instructor, farmer and Fort Collins enthusiast. She combined these passions to create an immersive farm-to-table cooking school that is better experienced than talked about.

“It matters where your food comes from as much as anything.” Dawn said in a recent interview.

Dawn is a big proponent of fostering a culture that embraces the love of food and where it comes from - as close to home as possible. And because Fort Collins has so many great options, why shop anywhere else?

Scope out her upcoming cooking classes at Farm Fusion, and get involved with your food in a way that honors creativity, passion and tradition.

🚧 Heads up for all you weekend warriors, the Harmony and Timberline intersection will be locked down tighter than that pickle jar you forgot about in the back of your fridge. It will be completely closed Friday, May 31, through Sunday, June 2, so plan accordingly. More info here.

🏓 Speaking of pickles, the city is considering the possibility of building an outdoor pickleball complex with 12 courts. Read more about the potential project here.
